Galore:
Whether
it is roaming through the mountains, admiring the tall trees,
fruits & vegetables, there is so much to do.
There
are a number of tourist attractions, which are short drives
away from Moonnilavu. Many of them are little known and hence
un-ravaged by man. But they are nonetheless very scenic and
a must see for all guests.
Ayampara
Stark rocky plains, sprawling across 20 acres of land, Ayampara
is 15-minutes drive from our home. This natural granite stadium
is ideal for trekking and enjoying the sunset on a lazy evening.
Illikal
Kallu
Kallu means ‘rock’ and this natural spot consists of 3 hills
each with peculiar shapes. One such shape is the Kudakallu (umbrella-shaped
rock). This locale is in the midst of lush green surroundings
and is enriched by the presence of various medicinal herbs.
Vagamon
A trekker’s paradise, Vagamon is steeped in natural beauty.
Situated just 17 km from our place, it’s an ideal spot to have
an outing, that is tranquil and one with nature.
Illavizhampunchira
For adventure lovers, there’s yet another treat - Illavizhampunchira.
Rugged roads with steep rises take us to this spot situated
3200m above sea level. Enjoy the pristine beauty.
St.
Peter's Church - Erumapra
Built by Rev. Henry Baker Jr. way back in 1879, a visit to the
CSI Church at Erumapra is an experience in itself.
Chillachi
River End
Rural Moonnilavu is ideal for cycling or walking. Just a furlong
away from our home, the road winding between the rubber estates
take you to Chillachi River End. This picturesque location is
bedecked by irregularly shaped rocks along the shore.

Where Tradition meets Elegance
|
Our
house is 65-years old and the two guest rooms are completely
made of hard wood. These are constantly polished to keep
the elegant sheen.
The
cool interiors make air-conditioning redundant. Each room
has custom-made double cots, a table and chair along with
a chest of drawers. Attached to the master bedroom, is
a spare room, to use either as a play area or bedroom

Enjoy
our traditional cuisine:
We
provide both vegetarian and non-vegetarian home-cooked food
in traditional syrian christian style, for breakfast lunch,
snacks and dinner. Specialities like Puttum Kadalayum (Steamed
rice-cake and curry dish), appam & stew and Karimeen (Pearl-spot)
pollichathu are served to name a few.
We
try to give each guest a sampling of the numerous varieties
of dishes in our cuisine.
